"You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive" Unknown

How true is this statement? ...
Some people can relate well to this statement and some can just close their car windows, drive away and ignore it. The roads of South Africa are used by millions of drivers day in and day out, and some know that a lot happens on the roads than any where else.
For the past years we had major turnoffs, rivals, deaths, accidents, drinking and driving on the roads because of road rage. All this resulting from failing to do the right thing. That is the whole reason that the South African traffic department came up with the concept of Arrive Alive! Fika uphila
Take for instance! A typical Morning in South African roads: that we will all dream to avoid ... "The Morning Rush hour", where people are rushing off to work, the trucks are loaded and heading for long distances, and of course the guys in the motor cycles are just slivering along the cars. Taxis everywhere you turn offloading people, some trying to make a U- turn because the traffic is too long for them to wait and the school buses have taken the whole road. And if you think of taking the highway, Think again! because that is a traffic congestion.Ekurhuleni's call centre
In such situations drivers turn to have either less patience or non at all. The next thing you know some other driver comes in, drives totally against the driving directions and violates the rules of the road. And when the next driver tries to overtake or leans right in front, the swearing begins.
Honestly, people who apologise and try to solve the situation without any road rage are few and also admired. It is not easy but at the end of the day, you are home safely and do not have to claim insurance money or make a statement to the police.
To avoid such instances on the road, it is vital, as the campaign of Arrive Alive has stressed, not to only think of your self, but to also think for other road users. Believing that your drivers licence proves the right for you to be on the road on condition that you will drive with attention and following the rules of the road.
Remember, by getting your learners and then obtaining your drivers licence, you vowed to abide by the law of the road.. So as a driver, drive like a driver should!
