Failing A Drivers Licence More Than Twice Is Discouraging
After failing for the first time my drivers test, I thought no, there is still time. Besides it was my first attempt, I was just getting a feel of the driving process. And now that its my fourth time failing, I feel so hopeless and desperate. My big question is will I ever get my licence?
When you are busy preparing to go into the test, you feel confident and trying to convince yourself that everything will go right. But its a total different view when you are out there and someone is watching for every mistake you make.
You know what you are suppose to but it just doesn't happen that way. Well with your first attempt you are just hoping that it all goes well and second attempt you are trying to rectify the mistakes you did on the first attempt.
Third time try, you tell yourself that you know what you are suppose to do, just do it right. Fourth time around you hate yourself for being so stupid. Firth time sixth time ... that's another story, that I hope nobody gets to experience!
Paying for lessons and car hiring for a drivers test
While you are busy taking these driving tests, the costs of hiring a car or a truck are way off your league. Because if I begin to count, in 2006 I spent R650 for hiring a driving school car. In 2007 I spent R510 for car hire (this was twice).
This is not all, I had to pay for driving lessons, and driving lessons don't come cheap, especially with the petrol price rising like it is at the moment. We cant blame them for charging what they charge, they are also trying to cover up for their costs. Because I think driving schools are covering up for 3 things;
Petrol
Driving Instructor and the
Car usage
Now I know that a drivers test should not be taken lightly.
Or maybe I wasn't that prepared to go for a test, or haven't driving for a while to learn the clutch control
Have you seen that when you always go for a driving test, amongst those applicants there is someone who has been driving for more than a year. These applicants only need papers to show that they are legal drivers otherwise they are just driving their way. YES some are perfect drivers and some, NOT.
On my first time test, I met a lady who has her own car and have been driving for a year, she just needed the papers. And when I asked that has she been caught before? IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS WITHOUT A DRIVERS LICENCE...you know the answer to this!
On my fourth attempt which was on the 02 July 2006, I met a guy, who has been driving for 4 years. Its only now that his applying for his drivers licence. And I'm sure all of these people have passed.
ALL in all this shows me that you need to have deep driving experience, for you to make it through. Of course there are people who maybe driving for years, but when coming to the drivers test, it can be something else.
Driving a good year before getting your licence
Does this mean I have to drive for more than a year or so before I can apply for my licence? Some of this actions entails breaking the law. Because if your are found driving without a licence or learners, you will be fined big time.
So I reckon it is not it. You can pass your drivers test, when you have only been taking lessons at a driving school. It can be hard, but it can be done.
Buying your drivers licence
How many people who don't know how to drive, have bought licences and are driving on our roads? and how many people who know how to drive, but just felt that they are not going back for the third time or eighth time for the same thing. They will rather buy the drivers licence?
Which everyway you look at it, it is wrong to buy or bribe someone for your drivers licence!
Again the fact of going for a test over and over again for the same thing, it doesn't make it and puts so much discouragement.
I just hope none of my readers have to go through that....
