When do insurance companies pay out for your car accidents and damages?
They first gather information of the accident or damage to the car, normally the cause and faults, if whether it was the drivers negligent or what? and as soon as they are satisfied with the gathered information they will pay.
If
insurance company pays out, you will need to pay an excess.
Axcess is the amount of money the car driver is
suppose to pay before collecting the car.
In other cases the car insurance may refuse to pay, why and when do they not pay out?
If its not because of the negligent of the driver, due to alcohol, another person was driving your car, an unlicensed driver uses your car and crossing the border without letting your insurer know. These are mostly the cases when you car insurance company wont pay out.
To put a claim for the insurance
It is advisable to put a claim to the police within a day of the accident or
damage, then you will receive an accident report number, with the case number
you will notify you insurance company with.
It is difficult to have a one fee fits all system when it comes to insurance premiums because some car drivers are high risk and others are low risk...
How do car insurance know that you are a high risk driver? the more you claim, the more you are referred to as a high risk driver, if you have claimed a couple of times for accidents and damages within 2 years, this is when you have to pay more premiums than the other drivers.
